5109 The Desert Research Station (DRS) is a CLUI public research, display, and information facility located in the Mojave desert, acting as a satellite to the Los Angeles location.  Focusing on the California Desert region, the DRS has interpretive displays about the land uses of this remarkable hinterland of the Los Angeles Basin.  For access to this, as well as other CLUI exhibit facilities, call the CLUI Information Line at 310 839-5722.

Directions 
From downtown Los Angeles, take I-10 east, to I-15 north towards Las Vegas/Barstow. Just before Barstow, take Highway 58 west. Proceed approximately 10 miles to the Hinkley Road exit, then go north for five miles to the DRS, located on the east side of the road.
