RS-G Atwater

Receiving Station G, on the LA River south of Atwater Village, was the ninth receiving station for DWP. It was energized in 1954, and serves Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Atwater, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, and other parts of northeast Los Angeles. It originally supplied 120,000 kilowatts to its surrounding distributing stations, enough to serve around 250,000 people. It was later doubled to 240,000 kilowatts, enough for 500,000. The station is connected to Receiving Station E by a 138,000 volt line, and to Receiving Station A via a 115,000 volt line (both previously upgraded from the original 132,000 volts and 110,000 volts, respectively). Also connected to the Valley Generating Station, through Receiving Station E.
