ANTARCTIC 1
Views Along Antarctica's First Highway

In the CLUI
Los Angeles Exhibit Hall
September - October,
2002
In September + October of 2002, the CLUI presented
an exhibition curated by William Fox focusing
on the infrastructure of Antarctica's first highway:
Antarctic 1. Although only 2.45 miles long, the road provides a view of the mechanisms and infrastructure of life-support and research that take place throughout this remote and inhospitable "continent of science".
This exhibit was prepared as part of the CLUI Independent Interpreter series + curated by William Fox. The exhibition includes images from the USGS, NSF, Neelon Crawford, Stuart Klipper, Ty Milford, Anne Nobel, Robert Stokstad, and William Sutton.
William Fox will give a talk about infrastructure and "the ice" on Saturday, September 7, 2002 @ 6pm.
Admission is free. Arrive early - seating is limited.
