Jason Metcalf is a Los Angeles-based artist, who was born and raised in Salt Lake City. He is interested in the dialogue of historicity as pertains to specific places, and in how accepted historical events as well as folk tales, myths, and legends can affect our understanding of places. During his time in Wendover in 2014 he installed a physical archive for the Historical Society of Deseret, an ongoing project that also involves tour guide publications exploring various sites in Utah where disputed historical events may or may not have occurred.
