Valley Curtain Site, Colorado

The site of a famous land art project in 1972, Christo and Jeanne-Claude's Valley Curtain. The curtain was comprised of woven orange nylon fabric, and was hung between two opposing sides of a valley in Colorado known as Rifle Gap, at a distance of 1,250 feet. Unfortunately, after over two years of preparation, the curtain hung for only 28 hours, as a gale force wind necessitated its removal.
