Skywalker Ranch, California

Skywalker Ranch is filmmaker George Lucas' 4,700 acre film production center in the hills of Marin County is on Lucas Valley Road.  Around 15 acres is developed, and the rest is ranch land. Buildings include the Main House and a technical building which houses Skywalker Sound. There is underground parking for employees, a gift shop, pool, Lake Ewok, vineyard, restaurants, multiple screening rooms, and a fire station. The Big Rock Ranch building, with a separate entrance, has been turned into a resort called Summit at Skywalker Ranch, as many employees have now moved to the headquarters complex for Lucasfilm and Industrial Light and Magic, his special effects company, when it opened at the Presidio, in San Francisco. Skywalker Ranch is more of a filmmaking retreat, focused primarily on sound production.
