Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), California

Work at the JPL is primarily related to designing and building satellites and space probes, and communicating with them once they are deployed. Most of the programs are conducted for NASA, such as the several Mars missions, and other planetary orbiter missions. The installation is a densely developed site at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains in Pasadena, operated by the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech).
