Perimeters and cartographic grids constitute
a network of overlying lines on the landscape delimiting
the margins or intersections of places. This thematic
program area examines the edges of places, which are
often distinct places in themselves, and the interaction
of physical place with conceptual lines. The structures
that emerge along linear transpositions, such as fences,
berms, and signage, are part of this land use language.
