The Photospot Project
Here is a collection of the Suggested Photospot Sites.

Photospot Number 10
Trojan Recreation Area and Nuclear Power Plant
St. Helens, Oregon

A massive cooling stack towers overhead as you barbecue with free power on the park's electric grills. Another nuclear power perk!

Photospot Number 17
Pig Shacks
Hubbard, Iowa

Piggie quonsets house sows. Pass the apple sauce for what the US Pork Association calls "America's Other White Meat."

Photospot Number 22
Farmland and ICBM Silo
Lodgepole, Nebraska

An unassuming chain link fence encircles H-4, the Eastern most silo of 212 Intercontinental Ballistic Missles in the Tri-State Array. An obsolete, 130 foot Titan Missle is the featured attraction at the town park of nearby Kimball, where it has become the home for a large flock of pigeons.

Photospot Number 34
Kodak Waste Water Treatment Plant
Rochester, New York

Kodak's industrial waste water is treated at this plant in the beautiful Genesee River Valley before making its way into Lake Ontario. Local lore has it that film can be developed in this water.

Photospot Number 35
TVA Power Plant and Recreation Area
Kingston, Tennessee

This scenic site sports a spectacular coal burning power plant. The Tennesee Valley Authority Kingston plant flanks another TVA project, Watts Bar Lake. Fishing is reportedly good in the shadows of these 1000 foot stacks.

Photospot Number 36
Pumping Station #1
New Orleans, Louisiana

Pumping stations built around New Orleans keep the sea at bay. Due to rising water and compressing soil, portions of the city are six feet below sea level and sinking. An elaborate system of dykes and pumps, built with the supervision of Dutch engineers, keep it from becoming America's Venice.

Photospot Number 48
International Border
Las Playas, Mexico

This fence runs along the USA / Mexico Border. It was constructed from surplus runway mat sections left over from the Vietnam War. In 1993, by US government order, the Army Corps of Engineers extended the wall beyond the beach, well into the Pacific Ocean, ensuring that only the best swimmers can cross here.
