Extrapolative Projects

The Center engages in a number of interpretive projects in the field that are designed to draw meaning from land use sites and phenomena. Many of these projects represent extensions of traditional interpretive techniques, and are designed to expand the methodology into new fronts.

Extrapolative Projects can be ongoing or momentary, physically realized or in the design stage. They include outdoor displays and signage, site-specific interactions, and other permanent or ephemeral activities. Some projects can be considered as a sort of "R&D" of interpretive practice at the Center.

Project support facilities exist at the Center’s Wendover, Utah complex and at the Desert Research Station near Barstow, California.
