The Desert Research Station serves the Center as a satellite facility for the Los Angeles office, focusing on the landscape of the California desert. Displays and information about the region are contained in the main exhibit room at the DRS, including maps, guidebooks, and visitor information for over one hundred points of interest. The DRS also has meeting facilities for tour groups and field sessions conducted by the CLUI. During times outside of scheduled programs, the DRS can be visited by contacting the Center's main office in Los Angeles.
