The Center leases a portion of
the former military airfield known as South Base, one mile
into the flats from the airport flightline. These structures
remain from the munitions storage and atomic bomb program
at Wendover, with some recent additions, including the control
tower, built by the Walt Disney Company (for a film called
"Conair"). Military and law enforcement personnel
conduct "SWAT" team-type training in some of the
buildings, including those leased by the CLUI. |
