The Remote Location is a 40 acre piece of land 40 miles north of Wendover, accessible most of the year by high-clearance vehicle only. The parcel has a varied topography, extending from a dry lake bed surface, up a slope to a level plateau, offering views of the Silver Island Mountains to the east and south. It was the first Utah property purchased by Robert Smithson and Nancy Holt.
